We don’t just provide services. We remove barriers and create pathways.

Our approach is designed to meet people where they are and help them move toward stability. From immediate support to long-term housing, each housing model plays a role in creating a clear path forward.

No two situations are the same.

Some individuals need immediate support to stabilize. Others are ready for long-term housing but face barriers that prevent access. Some need additional structure and care to move forward safely.
That’s why our services are designed to work together.  Not as isolated efforts, but as a coordinated system that helps people move from instability to independence.

Permanent Housing with Support

Having a stable, long-term home is the foundation for building a secure and hopeful future. Through this program, individuals and families not only find a place to call home but also receive the support needed to maintain their housing for the long term. By signing leases and paying rent, residents take meaningful steps toward stability and self-reliance. CHAT works to remove the common barriers that often prevent people from accessing housing, making it possible for more community members to qualify and begin rebuilding. With a stable home as their starting point, residents can focus on finding employment, strengthening their finances, and restoring a sense of hope and purpose in their lives.

Transitional Housing

Transitional housing is an important bridge for people moving from crisis toward lasting stability. It offers short-term support to individuals and families who are working hard to get back on their feet after a setback. Transitional housing is available to individuals in need of rapid rehousing, such as victims of domestic violence, wildfire survivors, and students at Butte College or CSU. By providing a safe place to regroup and plan, transitional housing helps people take the next steps toward a permanent home and a more secure future. This housing is temporary by design, with the goal of moving people into permanent supportive housing provided by CHAT or enabling them to transition to independent living as soon as they are ready.

Everhart Village

Everhart Village offers a safe, structured place for people who are facing some of life’s toughest challenges. Here, individuals can find stability and support as they work toward a brighter, more independent future. Everhart Village is a 20-unit micro shelter community created for people who are working to manage serious mental health conditions and need extra support along the way. Residents partner with Butte Behavioral Health to strengthen their mental health and develop the skills needed for lasting independence. With a stable environment and caring, 24/7 on-site support, we see residents make real progress and take important steps toward permanent housing. Volunteers are the heart of this community—they prepare dinner for residents every night, help coordinate skill-building workshops, and assist with maintaining and improving the property.

Builders Village

Builders Village is a 61-unit affordable housing development designed for seniors and individuals with disabilities experiencing homelessness. Each unit is fully ADA-accessible and supported by on-site services that help residents maintain stability. Located on a five-acre site in Chico, this project is a major step forward in addressing the lack of accessible housing in our community. Construction is expected to be completed in 2026.

Housing alone is not enough. Support is what makes it work.

Across all programs, we provide the services that help people stay housed and move forward. This includes case management, resource navigation, and ongoing support tailored to each individual’s needs.

Real outcomes that show what works.

Our approach is focused on long-term stability, not temporary fixes.

Through housing and support, we help people move forward in measurable ways. Residents gain stability, maintain employment, and transition into long-term housing solutions.

Each approach plays a role, but the real impact comes from our supportive services.

From immediate stabilization to long-term housing, this system creates a clear path forward. It allows individuals to enter at the point they need and continue progressing toward independence.

This is not about managing homelessness. It is about creating real exits from it.

This work is only possible with community support.

When you support CHAT, you are helping create real pathways to stability for individuals and families in our community.
