
What is AppFolio?
AppFolio is a cloud-based property management software.
With AppFolio you can pay rent online, submit maintenance requests, and access rental documents.
Ways to Pay Rent
All CHAT residents have the option to pay their rent in the following ways:
In Person
Online through Appfolio
Through Mail
Stop by the CHAT office to drop off your rent payment.

We accept payment through mail in cash and check format.
AppFolio Instructions
Rent Payment Process
From the front page, you will see your current balance with a breakdown of the charges. To make a payment;

Select "Make a Payment" or "Setup Auto Pay"

There are options to pay via card or eCheck (eCheck is the most affordable option).

Fill out payment info as prompted

Select payment date & how much (full balance or specific amount) Click "Make This Payment Now"
*You will receive an email confirmation.

*You can also see a copy of your ledger through the payments tab on the left.
Maintenance Request Process
From front page or from the maintenance tab click select "Request Maintenance";

Type details of your request

You will be prompted to answer questions that are specific to the item requiring repair.

IMPORTANT: Select permission to enter. "Yes" means maintenance will enter if no one is home. "No" means maintenance won't enter if no one is home. Please include any relevant info like barriers to entry, animals in home, etc.

If you select "no", you will be prompted to select availability.

Photos are SUPER helpful for maintenance. The more details provided the better.
Contacting Maintenance
Chat residents are responsible for communicating the maintenance needs of the leasing properties. Please include your CHAT house #, Housing Support Coordinator, your full first and last name, and contact number when communicating a request.
Online
Submit a work order through your Appfolio Tenant portal.
Submit a work order through email by emailing CHAT and CC-ing your Housing Support Coordinator
